Guns Versus Rocks

I have something to say about the latest incident in which Border Patrol agents opened fire when endangered by rock throwers along the Mexican Border.

I have read that a person should never shoot at another just because they are throwing rocks.

Well, pardon me, but, bullshit! Remember that the Israelites favorite type of execution was stoning?

I have a friend who was a helicopter pilot with the U.S. Border Patrol. He was at the time of this incident stationed in, I think, California, but I could be wrong about that. He was assisting agents on the ground in some kind of operation involving the attempted arrest of illegal aliens. These aliens were attempting to cross from Mexico into the United States without going through the legal process. This, by the way, a violation of Title 8 United States Code, a crime.

My friend was hovering very low to the ground along a concrete waterway or canal when one of the people on the Mexican side heaved a big rock into his whizzing blades. The result was that the helicopter went down in the canal.

Luckily for my friend the canal was practically dry. The agents that came to his rescue had to weather a barrage of rocks, some large enough to kill should they strike just right.

I am here to tell you something. If you have never been in such a predicament, you have no right to pass judgment. I would have done the same thing. A rock can kill much easier than it can knock a helicopter out of the air. If these people don’t want to get shot at, all they have to do is not throw rocks. If they wish to bring a rock to a gunfight, that’s their business. If they don’t want to get arrested, all they have to do is stay in Mexico.

These agents have families and deserve the right to defend themselves. Their families have the right to demand that their husbands and fathers come home to them, and they have the right to demand those same husbands and fathers defend themselves against armed aggression, which includes Big Freakin’ Rocks.

If you disagree, then put on a green uniform, go to the line, and stand shoulder to shoulder with the agents who really are this nation’s first line of defense. Then tell me how you would do something different.

I personally believe it should be written policy for agents to return fire every time they are threatened by rock throwers. Pretty soon we would not have such incidents for the media to rant about. These agents along the Border show amazing restraint or their would be a high body count every day.

I take a bit of solace in knowing that the gutless wonders doing the most screaming are cowards who would never have the courage to face the dangers along the Mexican or Canadian Borders. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

  1. Amen, Steve.

  2. I find it amazing that people that won’t behave and follow the law get upset when they are comfronted for their bad actions.

  3. Go down to the Rio Grande and try dodging rocks thrown
at night by the illegals. One can’t hear them or see them.

Some of you will know what the PI stands for.

    • RGS — Wish you had given your name, but your sentiments are well founded. And as for PI – Praise God for the Old Patrol, Inspector RGS.
