This hog wrecked the feeders on my deer lease near Caddo Lake state park.
I hunt over a long slough and I have feeders about 70 yards apart from each other. I noticed on the one closest to my stand that something was hanging down. I walked over and saw that something or someone had destroyed the timer box.
The feeder farthest away had a trail cam on it. That feeder timer had been destroyed also and I thought maybe, just maybe, I got a picture of the perpetrator.
I was shocked to see that pig standing on his hind legs with the timer in his mouth. I had enough spare parts to rebuild the timer.
A couple weeks later, the same thing happened. I thought I would outsmart the pig and dig a hole under the feeder with post hole diggers. I fixed the timer once more. That worked for couple of months.
It rained a lot and all the other animals had eventually filled the hole back in. It had been only about 8 inches deep because of how hard the ground was. Then the pig struck again.
I’ll either get longer legs for my feeder or I will put up some hog panels next year. He really interfered with my hunting this year. Now that hunting season is over, I might be able to do some night hunting for hogs. –Darryl Stark
