Twelve-year-old Justin McCarty of Cedar Park caught and landed his first “Big Ugly” on Jan. 30, 2011–38 lbs, 42 inches.
Caught at the Packery Channel Jetty in Corpus Christi on medium action spinning gear with 15 lb test braided line, using dead shrimp. Released to fight another day!
Great catch Justin! And congrats on the successful release. If more of us did that, catching a “big ugly” that size could be an every day experience!
