Everett Davis – Whitetail – Victoria, TX
Everett Davis, 9 years old, from Richmond TX took her first deer, a spike, at her family deer lease in Victoria TX on the youth weekend in October.
She made a 104 yard shot with her daddy’s .270! Four weeks later she took her first 8 point at 100 yards also with daddy’s .270. Everyone at the deer lease has nicknamed her Annie Oakley!
Lena Ramon – Whitetail – Jackson County
Lena Ramon 9, harvested her first whitetail deer with the Texas Youth Hunting Program on the Lavaca-Navida River Authority land in Jackson County.
Lena, her father Gilbert Ramon USMC (Ret) and LNRA guide Zack took this doe on the first morning hunt with Lena’s .223 single shot Rossi. All she needed was one shot being a Marines Daughter. The Ramons live in Inez.
Haylee “Grumpy” Goodwin – Ducks – North Texas
Grumpy, Rigley, and Hershey had a grand time hunting ducks in North Texas. Grumpy (Haylee Goodwin–the one in camouflage) and her companions were hunting with her dad, Jimmy Goodwin; grandfather, Richard Goodwin; and uncle, Greg Goodwin. All are children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren of TF&G editor-in-chief Don Zaidle.
