Temperature Turns White to Black

Today was the first day in the last 47 that the temperature hasn’t reached 100 degrees at my house. It only got to 97. I almost put on a jacket.

To celebrate the cooler temperatures I went fishing. My intention was to hit the main lake points chasing sand bass that I had seen schooling in the area previously. The fish had other ideas.

First cast on the downwind side of the point resulted in a black bass. Too bad there wasn’t anyone out there to show it too since I was the only boat on the water.

I was using a Sebile Spin Shad that I’ve written about previously for the Texas Tested section of the magazine. On the same lure I was using today I’ve caught crappie, sand bass, black bass, sand trout, speckled trout, Spanish mackerel, and red fish. This is one of those catch anything baits that you simply chunk and wind.
