So far no dead trout at Sabine

Just got this note from Texas Parks & Wildlife Department biologist on Sabine Lake Jerry Mambretti.

“As of now, we have not found any stressed or dead fish or turtles in the Sabine Lake system. We have been looking since Wednesday and will continue to monitor the system.”

A story written by Shannon Tompkins in the Houston Chronicle details there have been large numbers of mangrove snapper and snook (mainly fat snook) but also some commons killed in Lower Laguna Madre.

You can link up to that story by clicking here.

So far no dead fish have been found on Sabine Lake although the news isn’t as good on the opposite end of the Texas coast.
