Does anyone remember Sea Arama? It was the awesome marine park at Galveston that was open from the 1950s-80s.
We would go every summer and it had a tremendous impact on my interesting wildlife. My mom found this photo in her archives. That is me standing up on the left looking at the snake handle holding a huge African Rock Python.
What are your memories of this great place?
Is that the place that had the submarine ride with the swimming pig? Or was that aquarina springs?
Great memories when I was younger, but they started hurting for money and tried to make it an exclusive club. You had to have a credit card or checking account to belong and they would debit a monthly amount. For this you could camp within the grounds. Made me never go again.
I remember it with a very fond memory. My wife was selected to pet a dolphin at the end of their show. She passed away in 2002 but she always treasured being able to pet a dolphin. And I remeber it like it was yesterday.
I remember it very well. I always liked when the snake charmer would kiss the cobra on the head ,and they’d bring the snakes right out into the audience so you could touch them. The aquarium was real cool too.
