Just got this note from Texas Parks & Wildlife Department biologist on Sabine Lake Jerry Mambretti. “As of now, we have not found any stressed or dead fish or turtles in the Sabine Lake system. In 2007, speckled trout limits in Lower Laguna Madre were reduced from 10 to 5 fish due to concerns of recruit of fish into the population. Guided trips have seen a decline but private trips have seen an uptick in harvest at around 90,000. They are nowhere near the peak of the late 1980s...
