Alligators eat popping corks? (Video)

A couple of weeks ago my father and I go went for a morning fishing with our friend Lewis Hogan.

I was fishing with a bait under a popping cork, a Paradise Popper Xtreme to be exact, along a shoreline in the Intracoastal Canal near Sabine Lake. I looked over and saw a 10 foot long alligator swimming toward it so I start reeling in to avoid its toothy imprint.

That only excited the gator and it doubled its efforts and grabbed my cork!

These are my favorite corks and I only had a couple with me so I tried to pull it from the gator’s mouth thinking the pressure might inspire it to let go for a second. Nope!

It did eventually spit out the cork after it swam off but by the time we pulled anchor we could not find it. (The current was super strong that day)

Check out the video and know that gators like shiny yellow corks.
