Anyone who keeps up with this blog or my writing in general knows I am a HUGE fan of crappie fishing. To me there is nothing like targeting big slabs over brushpiles and that is not even the best part.
That comes at the dinner table.
Crappie are without a doubt the best tasting fish found in Texas.
To either inspire or make jealous (maybe both) you fellow crappie fans, I am posting a pic of young angler Trace Shannon with his 14.5-inch white crappie caught while fishing at Sam Rayburn back in July. He caught it on a live shiner fished in the stumps near San Augustine Park. Way to go Trace.
Now, excuse me while I plan a crappie trip.
