The Bassmaster Elite Series is about to hit Toledo Bend with the”Battle on the Bend”.
B.A.S.S. is hosting the event in Many, La., June 7 -10, the fifth of eight Bassmaster Elite Series professional bass fishing tournaments scheduled in 2012.
The contest pits 99 of the top bass anglers in the world against one another, including fishing legend Kevin VanDam and 2012 Bassmaster Classic champion Chris Lane, as they compete for the $100,000 first prize and a coveted spot in the 2013 Bassmaster Classic set for Feb. 22-24, 2013, in Tulsa, Okla.
Following the weigh-in at Cypress Bend Park on Sat., June 9, the Evan Williams Bourbon Concert Series performance by RCA Recording artist Bush Hawg will take place on the main stage. A fireworks show will follow the concert on Saturday evening. Other activities set to take place throughout the Toledo Bend Battle tournament weekend include on the water demonstration boat tours with brands such as Mercury ProXS, Nitro Boats, Skeeter Performance Boats, Triton and Yamaha’s 2012 Discover VMAX SHO. Entertainment for kids of all ages, including inflatables and face painting, will also take place on Saturday and Sunday.
Elite anglers like 4-time Bassmaster Classic Champion Rick Clunn will be competing in the "Battle on the Bayou".
