While scouring my archives I came across this shot of TF&G photographer Gerald Burleigh being kissed on the back of a neck by a jaguar.
This was back in 1994 and was my first time in an enclosure with big cats. I was blown away how affectionate this one particular cat was and formed about as close a friendship as a human can have with such an animal over the course of a couple of years.
Thanks to Gerald Burleigh for introducing me to jaguars 18 years ago.
